Went over to Sunday River, Maine yesterday for their Heat Harvest 3. This year the park crew got it right and built the largest booter I've ever seen on the east coast. This thing was huge and scary. It was so big some of the invite only athletes were lets say a little timid hitting it. A few stepped up and threw down big before lunch. I saw a double front over that gap - insane. After lunch the session continued on the sculpted hip jump and a "made on the fly" vert jump. A big thanks goes out to Alex Kaufman for inviting me every year.

Trail map shot.
Last week was your very standard ski resort shoot. I was up at Killington capturing signature shots for the resort. To do this the recipe is simple; One part sunny day, one part talented athletes who can both ski and smile, throw in some gondolas and good snow and you get your trail map cover shot. Here are a few of my selects, enjoy.
Batina looking very fishy.
Bret looking all smiles.
Throwing in a snowboarder for fun.
Bret always smiling.
Jen and Matty.

aphotoeditor
So a couple a weeks ago probably in a martini induced haze I uploaded two images to a "contest" over on a blog that I read quite often. www.aphotoeditor.com is a blog written by the former photo editor of Outside and Men's Journal, Rob Haggart. Rob provides a cool look inside the workings of a major magazine and how the big time editorial photography market clicks down in the BIG city. So I check back a few days ago and their she is, one of my two images I submitted had made the cut. (I must have been only 50% creative that day) Very cool. Rob had a slideshow up and running with the selected images but I guess something went wrong and it's now down. I'll post again when its up and working so everybody can go check it out. Here are two screen shots before the slideshow went down. You can check out the images I entered HERE.

Skiing route 100 in 48 hours.

Late last Tuesday night I met up with Mike Horn and Justin Reyher. We were heading to our starting point, Mount Snow, to work on a story for Ski Vermont. Our mission over the next 48 hours was to ski as many resorts along route 100 here in Vermont as we could. Heading from south to north and armed with lift tickets and beer (thanks Long Trail) we figured we could hit 10 resorts in total. Most on route 100, some slightly off. Most open, some closed mid-week. Early Wednesday morning under cloudy and windy skies we took our first run at Mount Snow. 31 hours, 300 miles and 9 resorts behind us with three minutes to spare we made last chair at Jay Peak under sunny and warm spring skies.
10 resorts hit - Mission complete.

A very quick run at Stowe
Never a doubt, 3 minutes to spare, Jay Peak
