Last spring I got a call from Powder Magazine with an assignment to shoot a feature at Surgarloaf Resort, Maine. Over 5 long days and nights last March I soaked in all that the resort had to offer. Along the way I met a bunch of great skiers, funny as hell old timers and ate and drank all the suggested offerings. Sugarloaf is quite a unique place and the most welcoming resort I have visited. From the parking lot guy to the gas station cashier there is an overwhelming sense of community and pride in their home mountain. Go get a copy and read the story. (Author,
