Feature: Kronicle

Spent an awesome 10 days in Nelson, BC last winter with writer Mike Horn and a cast of others that included Johan Olofsson.  We were there shooting a feature for this years Kronicle Magazine.  The story was to tag along with the Sweetgrass Productions crew while they filmed their next feature "Valhalla" and document Johan and his Venture noboard.  Deep snow and great times for sure.

Published: Powder Magazine

This shoot for Powder Magazine didn't exactly go as planned.  The assignment was to head to the hostel and get shots of people partying in the crowded lodge after a blower day at Jay Peak.  Unfortunately winter quit on us in early February and by the time I got there it was closed for repairs.
Grampa Grunt's, Montgomery, VT.  Unfortunate news Grampa Grunt passed away this fall.

This shot is a couple seasons old but still one of my favorites.  From an epic deep day up at Jay Peak.

Published: SKI Magazine

Lots of little East Coast shots published in SKI Magazine's 2013 Resort Guide.

A few from Sugarloaf, ME.

Even Kubas makes an appearance.

An oldie but goodie from Jay Peak, Brian Keet circa 2006 I think.

Published: Kronicle (Olympics Feature)

A few hours outside Seattle, WA out on the Olympic Peninsula is a small town called Sequim.  Off the main drag just a bit, located within a warehouse park is the unassuming Mervin Manufacturing factory.  It was there I watched a splitboard made from start to finish, mounted it up and rode 2 feet of fresh pow on that very board later that afternoon.  How cool is that?

My splitboard before the split.

Published: Powder Magazine (Sugarloaf feature)

Last spring I got a call from Powder Magazine with an assignment to shoot a feature at Surgarloaf Resort, Maine.  Over 5 long days and nights last March I soaked in all that the resort had to offer.  Along the way I met a bunch of great skiers, funny as hell old timers and ate and drank all the suggested offerings.  Sugarloaf is quite a unique place and the most welcoming resort I have visited.  From the parking lot guy to the gas station cashier there is an overwhelming sense of community and pride in their home mountain.  Go get a copy and read the story. Published: SBC Skier

Came home to the SBC Skier and Snowboarder Resort Guide sticking out of my mailbox.  Got two sweet shots published in the NorthEast section.  One from Jay Peak and one from Killington.  But the kicker is I also have a short column published as well.  Who knew I could write?  Starts off with a little intro from the editors "Justin Cash is an accomplished ski and snowboard photographer who..."  If it's in print it must be true, right?

Published: Outside Magazine

Sometimes images I shoot take a while to find a proper home.  This particular image of Ben Wheeler was shot in the slack-country outside Alta during the 2009 Ski Salt Lake Shootout.

Published: Powder Magazine

This was absolutely my favorite shot from the 2010-11 ski season.  Pure powder bliss.  The day was perfect, 2 feet of blower and sun peaking through the clouds.  Big ups to Galin Foley for taking the time rip a few deep turns.

The Fly Fish Journal Feature

Been meaning to get this posted.  Had a feature story run in The Fly Fish Journal last issue.  All about fishing really small streams for native Vermont brook trout.  It was a ton of fun to shoot and even more fun to fish.  Words by Kirk Kardashian.
